Daphne’s story
Make a laurelDaphne was a river nymph who wanted to belong to no one.
When a god chased her, she begged to be changed. Her arms became branches. Her hair became leaves.
She became the first laurel tree. Her heart, the story goes, still beat under the bark.
The god wore her leaves as a crown. Since then, laurels have gone to the poets, athletes and artists who were chosen.
Every laurel since is hers. She still belongs to no one, so now she’s free to every filmmaker who’s earned one.
Make festival laurels for your film. It’s free.
